"Droppar i folkhavet"

In the park next to St. Göran's church, the work Droppar i folkhavet, created by the artist Sam Westerholm, was inaugurated in 2020. The sculpture is a tribute to the writer Maria Sandel, who is called Sweden's first female proletarian writer. She lived between 1870 and 1927. The name is the title of one of her books, it was published in 1924.
The artwork consists of a relief in gray granite. Pictures depict Sandel's life and deeds. An aluminum sign tells more about the work, a gift from the Maria Sandelssällskapet, the LO district in Stockholm County and ABF Stockholm.//Bengt Magnusson SPF-seniorerna.
